SHED MANUAL & RESOURCE LIST
A Shed manual – is there such a glorious document I hear you say?
Thankfully, the answer is yes and it is made up of various documents including the Men’s Shed Toolkit for UK & Ireland. We have created various categories which are compliant with Scottish law from starting a Shed to remaining sustainable and viable as a Shed in your own right as we support the ethos of ‘By the Men, For the Men’.
From the very beginning of helping Sheds set up in Scotland since 2009, and by creating the successful ‘pathway’ to Shed creation, we have worked with hundreds of Shedders and associations in creating and collating the information you will require.
You will find these jewels of wisdom in our Online Resource Library which you can access once you have joined as a Shed Member. There really is a shedload of helpful documents just waiting for you so you don’t have to remake the wheel when you start creating your Shed. You can also join the Scottish Men’s Sheds Association individually for free if you live in Scotland, are over the age of eighteen and support the grassroots Scottish Men’s Shed Movement.
Please be aware that our charity is not affiliated to any other UK Men’s Sheds Associations – ‘In Scotland For Scotland’.
We have negotiated with the Australian Men’s Shed Association for you to be able to access
their interactive definitive AMSA Men’s Shed Manual. This is set up in two sections
– Starting a Shed and Running a Shed and is only available however for SMSA Shed Members.
If after you have seen all the resource information available to you in this section of the members’ area
and you have created a resource which would help others in the Shed Movement, please feel free to send
it to the SMSA for possible inclusion in the Resource Library. Our Association is a grassroots one and
together we are the power that drives and sustains it.
