A question which almost every Shed asks is this, ‘Why are we quoted for insurance for employees when we only have volunteers?’
Employers liability insurance
If your shed has employees or volunteers then employers liability insurance is a legal requirement.
This covers your Shed against allegations of injury or illness suffered by employees or volunteers during their employment or time in the Shed. Some insurers may cover volunteers under public liability insurance. If you’re unsure where your volunteers are covered please speak to Elaine.
In SMSA/Greenwoods Moreland policies and quotes volunteers come under the term ’employers liabilty’ at no extra cost.
