Glen Urquhart Men’s Shed

The Glen Urquhart Men’s Shed was set up in 2019 and became a charity in 2023. Its aim is to provide opportunities for men in the local area to build friendships, and engage in activities that will positively impact their mental health and well-being. We welcome men from Glen Urquhart and surrounding settlements including Drumnadrochit, Balnain, Glen Urquhart, Cannich and Tomich.

Our Balnain premises consist of 2 workshops as well as 2 offices and a meeting room, which are available to rent.

We are very active in the local community, having worked on projects such as renewing noticeboards, painting fencing around the war memorial, making repairs at the Glenurquhart Public Hall, making picnic benches for the village green and helping out with small jobs or non-electrical repairs.

We are always looking at opportunities to raise the money we need to pay for renovation works at our new premises as well as covering the current and future costs of running the Shed. As well as receiving much appreciated grants from various organisations, including local businesses, our members make items that we sell to the general public.
