Community Assets Knowledge Exchange - provides funding to help community organisations in the Highlands and Islands take part in training and learning experiences related to owning land or buildings. Grants of up to £2K, although most grants will likely be about £500
(organisations are expected to contribute at least 10% of total project costs).

The focus is on sharing information between organisations, through knowledge exchange visits and peer-topeer learning. Open to organisations who deliver community benefits and who own community assets (land or buildings) or have plans to move into community ownership.

The Scottish Government’s Community and Renewable Energy Scheme (CARES) supports communities to engage with, participate in and benefit from the energy transition to net zero emissions. CARES is managed by Local Energy Scotland and offers a range of financial support to community energy projects.

CARES provides a package of support, and we make it as easy as possible for you to deliver your project. Current support and funds are:

• Community Energy Launchpad – if you are new to community energy and not sure where to start, what to do or are struggling to work out if you are eligible this is where to start.
• Community Buildings Fund – grants for communities that want to install renewable systems in community buildings such as faith buildings, village halls and community centres.
• Community Energy Generation Growth Fund – grants and loans for communities that want to own and operate renewable energy technologies.

Each of Persimmon Homes 30 offices across the UK make a donation of up to £6,000 every three months to local charities and organisations in their communities.

One-off grants are available for local community organisations and charities for local community initiatives across England, Scotland and Wales in communities where Persimmon has a presence.

The community champions scheme is open to all and does not have a specific focus.

Grants range from £100 to £2,500 and are available for small local groups and small local charities to improve the quality of life and combat loneliness in older people as well as adults with a physical or mental disability in England, Scotland, and Wales

Funding is intended to help small community groups and local charities with the following:
• Activity projects.
• Equipment and materials for use by members.
• Member transport.
• Day trips, outings and group holidays in the UK.

Priority will be given to innovative projects that help older people and those with a disability to get active, meet people, and reduce isolation.

Scottish Community Alliance Partnership with the SMSA

The SCA‘s Community Learning Exchange is an opportunity for Sheds to visit fellow Sheds or community groups and learn from their experience.

The programme funds 100% of travel and subsistence expenses (up to £1,000) including a fee for the host organisation that you want to visit. Funding is also available to develop and deliver a virtual learning experience. Hundreds of communities have already taken advantage of this opportunity.

Just Enterprise is a Scottish Government-funded programme for the Third Sector in Scotland. It provides fully-funded support to social enterprises and enterprising charities in Scotland.

Their expert network of advisers provide the support, training and information you need to start up, develop, grow and lead your social enterprise. What’s more, the majority of their services are entirely free.

The Just Enterprise programme is delivered by a consortium of Third Sector partners.

You will receive an online grove webpage where friends and family can add trees and dedications of their own.

Groves cost £30 to create, and this includes your first tree.

Volunteering Matters Action Earth - offer grants to help urban communities to respond to our nature and climate crises. Any group of volunteers in urban areas are able to apply for Volunteering Matters Action Earth nature grants up to £250 to run environmental activities in
green spaces in built-up areas and centres of population. Applications should make major environmental impacts and/or involve mass participation. Applications prioritised from volunteer groups that do any of the following:

• Work in areas where there is substantial social or economic deprivation
• Improve and develop the health and wellbeing of their local community
• Involve disabled people, vulnerable people or those at risk of exclusion
• Encourage and involve people under 26 in practical outdoor conservation

Projects must be completed by 28 February 2027

Argyll & Bute Council - Supporting Communities Fund5th July 2026

The fund supports community groups in Argyll and Bute. Projects should demonstrate the following key priorities: fairer communities, resilient communities, cleaner, greener communities and creative communities.

Applications for funding of events and festivals are expected to bring economic benefit to the relevant area and have a developmental aspect.

Applications to the fund must evidence direct benefit to vulnerable individuals and groups in the local community and partnership working where relevant.

The Supporting Communities Fund 2026 / 27 is now open. Deadline for applications is: 23.59pm on Sunday 5th July 2026.

Tayside Contracts Community Fund31st May 2026

Supports local Tayside community projects by providing goods and services to transform and improve the lives of local people.

If you are a charity or a constituted community group, and you think Tayside Contracts could provide a service to you, then you may want to consider our Community Fund. We do the work for you, and the Community Fund picks up the cost up to the maximum of £500 for Fast-Track applications and up to £3,000 for Full applications.

Some of the things we could do for local communities include:-

Carrying out roads/footway improvements and repairs to community facilities such as community hall car parks, or a local pathway
Digging trenches for rural community broadband schemes
Providing food or catering for a community or charity event
Provision of signage via our Sign Shop for a range of community needs
Provision of Traffic Management for a community event.
