The purpose of the Community Grants Fund is to enable the Council to provide financial support to community, sports and voluntary organisations within Inverclyde. Funds are available towards operational, project and fee waiver costs where activities contribute to the quality of life of the people of Inverclyde.

You will need to specify if and how the awarding of a grant would contribute to and benefit the wider community, in line with the local priorities of:

empowered people
working people
healthy people and places
a supportive place
and a thriving place.
You will also need to specify on the paperwork how much funding you are requesting against the three categories:

Facilities/Core Costs;
Project Costs;
Fee Waivers

The Radcliffe Trust - Heritage & Crafts31 Jan and 31 July each year

The Radcliffe Trust supports the development of the skills, knowledge and experience that underpin the UK’s traditional cultural heritage and crafts sectors.

Applications for July Trustee consideration open 1 November and close 31 January (projects must start after 1 July), while applications for December consideration open 1 May and close 31 July (projects must start after 1 January following the Trustees meeting).

The Radcliffe Trust supports the development of the skills, knowledge and experience that underpin the UK’s traditional cultural heritage and crafts sectors. This includes support for:

craft and conservation training
practical projects, particularly those that include a strong training element
strategic and capacity-building projects which demonstrate clear benefits to the sector
Special Needs projects whose emphasis is on skills development.

However, the Trust remains committed to flexible, open and inclusive grant-giving and will consider other projects, should they fall broadly within its remit.

The Sackler Trust provides funding for a broad range of charitable projects and activities, with applications welcomed from charities and Community Interest Companies (CICs) who can demonstrate a clear rationale for support in areas including:

social good
education
the arts
science
the environment
local heritage.

Funded projects should show a clear charitable purpose and deliver measurable public benefit.

Applications are submitted by email and should be no more than two pages in length. Grant decisions are typically informed by an assessment of organisational need, anticipated impact, and long-term sustainability.

To apply (brief description of the project – no more than two pages) including:

• The name of the organisation applying
• Contact details
• Link to the website for your organisation
• Charity number
• Recent Report & Accounts

The Scottish Government’s Community and Renewable Energy Scheme (CARES) supports communities to engage with, participate in and benefit from the energy transition to net zero emissions. CARES is managed by Local Energy Scotland and offers a range of financial support to community energy projects.

CARES provides a package of support, and we make it as easy as possible for you to deliver your project. Current support and funds are:

• Community Energy Launchpad – if you are new to community energy and not sure where to start, what to do or are struggling to work out if you are eligible this is where to start.
• Community Buildings Fund – grants for communities that want to install renewable systems in community buildings such as faith buildings, village halls and community centres.
• Community Energy Generation Growth Fund – grants and loans for communities that want to own and operate renewable energy technologies.

Southall TrustThere are three deadlines for applications during the year. As a rough guide, deadlines will be as follows: Late December/Early January Late April/Early May Late August/Early September

The Southall Trust makes grants to registered charities working in: Quaker work and witness; Environmental action and sustainability; Peace and reconciliation; and Social action.

January–March: Closes at 5pm on the first Friday in January, and reopens at 9am on the first Monday in March.
May–July: Closes at 5pm on the first Friday in May, and reopens at 9am on the first Monday in July.
September–November: Closes at 5pm on the first Friday in September, and reopens at 9am on the first Monday in November.
