Funding for registered UK Charities in the fields of the advancement of the arts, health and medical welfare and environmental protection or improvement. Core cost or project funding considered. An example grant is setting up a therapeutic gardening project.

The deadline for applications for small charity grants (charities with an annual income of £5m and under) is 1st June 2026. The deadline for first-stage applications for large charity grants (charities with an annual income of above £5m) is 8th May 2026. Second-stage applications for Large Charities will be 1st June 2026.

The next grants will be decided in mid-July 2026. Applicants will be informed by the end of August.

The Community Fund was established to ensure local communities benefit from Edinburgh Airport activities. It provides financial support to community groups and charities that are committed to improving the opportunities, facilities and services available to local people.

The fund will consider applications from Edinburgh, Falkirk, the Lothians and Fife. Priority will be given to applications which reflect the four pillars of the airport’s Greater Good sustainability strategy - Zero Carbon, Enhancing Scotland, Scotland’s Best Business and Trusted Neighbour.

Initiatives could include:

The mitigation against and reduction of the effects of a changing climate.
The reduction of local, negative environmental impacts.
Supporting local biodiversity, rewilding, and/or restoration of the natural world.
The enhancement of local business, community groups and long-term sustainable partnerships in the airport’s surrounding area.
Improving healthy working lives and increase upskilling and employment opportunities for the socially isolated, economically deprived, and/or otherwise disadvantaged persons.
Improving care, expanding opportunity, providing shelter, and enabling rehabilitation of vulnerable groups in the community.
Providing urgent, targeted, local support during the cost-of-living crisis.

Support could be used to develop marketing plans, explore other funding options, consider new trading ideas, plan financially and work on budgets, improve branding, create or refine a business plan, strengthen your Board, review your legal structure, and identify digital solutions.

Provides grants for charities improving homes and community spaces for vulnerable groups (e.g., homelessness, poor health, disability). Larger grants occasionally available.

There are two levels of grants:
• Up to £5,000 for garden projects
• Up to £10,000 for building or indoor projects.

The B & Q Foundation will consider awarding higher value grants.

Bank of Scotland Foundation recognises the profound impact that the cost of living crisis is having on people across Scotland. To ensure funding can reach those in real need, the Empower grants programme this year will solely focus on helping charities who support vulnerable groups/people. The Empower programme provides unrestricted funding which can be used towards core costs, delivery costs, project costs and/or general running costs enabling charities to use their funding in the way that helps them best. Through the programme, charities will also have the opportunity for strategic support from Lloyds Banking Group colleagues to add value for the charity and the people they help.

Asda Foundation - Local Community Spaces FundCurrently closed

Grants are available for grassroots groups to create, improve or repair local community spaces where people can socialise and reduce loneliness, and boost wellbeing. Improved accessibility to the community space is also funded.

A range of project costs are supported.
Examples of eligible projects include (but not limited to):
• Kitchen and bathroom refurbishments.
• Creation of a new permanent space.
• Roof and floor repairs.
• Building extensions.
• Disabled access ramps to a community building Upgrades and replacements to windows and doors.
• Boilers and heating.
• Essential building security upgrades.
• Transformation of a disused space into a functional space.
• Removable items (e.g. soft furnishings, tables and chairs, white goods and electrical items, garden machinery) provided they only make up a small portion of a wider application to repair, renovate, or develop a community space.

Grants from £10,000 to £20,000 are available.

The Asda Foundation must contribute at least 50% of the total project cost (up to £20,000) and can fund up to 90% of the total project cost.

Applicants must already have 10% of the total project cost (demonstrated in submitted accounts).

Asda Foundation - Investing in Spaces and Places GrantCurrently closed

Grants of between £10,000 and £25,000 are available for small, local groups in the UK to improve community spaces and places where local people can be together and thrive.

Eligible project costs may include materials, tradespeople and equipment costs. The space being applied for must be used by a range of groups for multiple activities on a regular basis or will be used in this way once the project is complete.
