An empty business property grant is a fund offered by local councils to help owners and tenants bring vacant commercial properties back into productive use. These grants can be used for a variety of purposes, such as physical works to reconfigure a space for a new use, business planning, or professional reports. Eligibility criteria, grant amounts, and application processes vary depending on the specific council and scheme, such as the Union Street Empty Shops Grant in Aberdeen or the Empty Business Property Grant in Argyll and Bute.

Bank of Scotland Foundation recognises the profound impact that the cost of living crisis is having on people across Scotland. To ensure funding can reach those in real need, the Empower grants programme this year will solely focus on helping charities who support vulnerable groups/people. The Empower programme provides unrestricted funding which can be used towards core costs, delivery costs, project costs and/or general running costs enabling charities to use their funding in the way that helps them best. Through the programme, charities will also have the opportunity for strategic support from Lloyds Banking Group colleagues to add value for the charity and the people they help.

Community Assets Knowledge Exchange - provides funding to help community organisations in the Highlands and Islands take part in training and learning experiences related to owning land or buildings. Grants of up to £2K, although most grants will likely be about £500
(organisations are expected to contribute at least 10% of total project costs).

The focus is on sharing information between organisations, through knowledge exchange visits and peer-topeer learning. Open to organisations who deliver community benefits and who own community assets (land or buildings) or have plans to move into community ownership.

Each of Persimmon Homes 30 offices across the UK make a donation of up to £6,000 every three months to local charities and organisations in their communities.

One-off grants are available for local community organisations and charities for local community initiatives across England, Scotland and Wales in communities where Persimmon has a presence.
