OPEN DOORS DAY…FOR SHEDS
To mark International Men’s Day this year, the SMSA is facilitating a Scottish Men’s Shed Open Doors Day! On the 19th November each year, we celebrate International Men’s Day and the positive value that men bring to the world, their families and communities. So, what better way to mark this day than encourage members of the public, social prescribers, our funders, partners.. and potential new members to come along to the Shed? With the Shed doors swung wide open, it is an opportunity to reach a large audience in one day by offering tours to tell them what you do, meet the members, see activities in action and answer any questions. The SMSA will then promote all participating Sheds to encourage people to attend.
A PERSONAL STORY: ROD AINSWORTH FROM LOSSIEMOUTH MEN’S SHED
When the SMSA received a letter from Rodney (Rod) Ainsworth, 80 years young from Lossiemouth Men’s Shed, expressing how much he enjoyed being part of the SMSA and the Scottish Men’s Sheds Movement following his retirement from the fire service and moving to Scotland, we had to share his story…
SHED IN THE SPOTLIGHT: SPEY SHED
The SMSA chats to Hamish Thom, Chairman of Spey Shed, which now has 25 members and growing steadily—so much so, that they are beginning to feel that they are already outgrowing their current premises. Could a future move be on the cards?
LANARK MEN’S SHED MARKS ONE YEAR IN!
